Sir Paul Banda is a Malawian musician, songwriter, producer and videographer widely regarded as the founder of modern Malawian music.
He founded the Alleluya Band and remains a member. Through the 1990s and 2000s he mentored a long line of Malawian artists, including his younger brother Lucius Banda, Malume Bokosi and Paul Chaphuka, and he produced Ceasefire, the highest-selling Malawian album on record. He received a lifetime award in 2023.
